Klinger / Micro-Controle Type PO46 Prism Table
$165.00This item is a very nice compact prism tilting table manufactured by Klinger / Micro Controle. The model number is PO46. There are two fine-thread adjustment screws for pitch in both the X and Y direction, and a third fine-thread adjustment screw for rotation of the table through a small angle. The table has the lock option � once the proper plane and orientation has been established, a single screw locks the pitch adjustment, and another screw locks the theta adjustment.
This is the intermediate size support in the �PO� series of prism tables. Measurements include:

Klinger SK 25mm Gimbal Mount – missing clamps

PLEASE NOTE � This mount is missing both the three spring-loaded fingers for securing optics on the reverse side of the gimbal mount AND the spring-loaded ring for conventional mirror mounting. Presently there is no means to secure the mirror within the gimbal short of cement. The spring-loaded rings from the much more common SL gimbal mounts will NOT work in these mounts.
This item is a Klinger Model SK Gimbal Mount for optics of 25mm diameter. These gimbals are somewhat more sensitive for mirror adjustment than the SL type gimbals. The SK mount is unusual in that there are two methods for securing optics or mirrors. The first method is similar to that found in the more common SL type gimbal mounts. There should be a spring-loaded ring with a pair of threaded posts to accommodate lenses or mirrors with edge thicknesses of up to 10mm. There is a recess in the gimbal mount machined for 51mm diameter lenses, with three precision bearing points that are perfectly matched to the common tilting planes for azimuth and elevation. The securing ring posts are slightly asymmetrical in order to allow easier exchange of the components via the larger of the openings. The minimum thickness for the mirror should be observed as the securing ring does not extend into the recess very far.
The second mode of mounting is for larger-than-specified 51mm mirrors. The recess on the opposite side of the ring mount is stepped and will accommodate mirrors in several sizes up to 78mm in diameter. The three spring-loaded arms (which are absent) would serve to secure the mirror into the appropriate recess. By reversing the mirrors so they face away from the mounting surface it is possible to use very steep grazing reflection angles.

HP 10724A Plane Mirror
$160.00This item is an HP 10724A Plane Mirror. It is a component in the Hewlett-Packard Laser Interferometry Distance Measurement Apparatus. The mirror is used in conjunction with various 1.5� cube interferometer bodies. Unlike a corner-cube retroreflector, the plane mirror must be critically aligned to the interferometer. The leveling screws are not present and the special spring-loaded attachment screws are lacking. The device is also missing the label, but is otherwise in excellent condition. Mirror is flawless. Because of the missing components and the light cosmetic blemishes in the chrome finish this item has been rated as �second grade�.

HP 10706A Plane Mirror Interferometer
$275.00This item is an HP 10706A Plane Mirror Interferometer, but it is lacking the reference mirror component (HP 10724A). This item is one of the �medium-sized (1.5� cube)� components in the Hewlett-Packard Laser Interferometer Dimensional Measurement Apparatus. The interferometer ordinarily consists of several assemblies. The cube assembly (present here) is a beam-splitting interferometer, type 10706A, which consists of a beam-splitter cube that plane polarizes the light. On either side of the cube would be mounted a type HP 10703A Retroreflector. The further addition of an HP 10722A optical wedge would allow the receiver to move relative to the interferometer body. The laser is on the opposite side from the receiver.
The angle of the beam-splitter is not critically set within the cube in order to keep component prices reasonable. For precise positioning it is recommended that the beam-splitter is fixtured using a large leveling base (HP 10711A). These mounts allow for corrections in two directions. Pitch may be adjusted through several degrees about the axis of the mirror component by resetting the cradle position in the base, and yaw may be adjusted using the play in the elongated slots for securing the base. The base of the mount has an open aperture so the beam path may be directed through the base of the fixture. Beams should ONLY be deflected at right angles in each laser / detector assembly in order to avoid depolarization of the laser beams.
These components have been removed from various fixtures. They meet our requirements for second quality used interferometer components. All optical surfaces are free of blemishes and there are no gouges or distortions in any of the parts that would in any way impede accuracy of measurements. Cosmetically these components do have some minor issues. Some of the dress plastic baffles that are inset into the steel frames are absent, and there are some minor scratches in the steel frames. No hardware is included with the interferometer body.

Large Achromat Objective, 125mm Diameter, 600mm
$875.00This is a very large precision achromat objective mounted in a cell with a standard size 13.7mm pin. The cell, finished in a crinkle black, has an outside diameter of 140mm, and is 77mm deep. The top of the post is 100mm from the optic axis of the objective.
Mounted within the cell is a cemented doublet achromat lens of 125mm diameter (the cell reduces the clear aperture to 120mm). The lens does have a MgFl coating. The focal length is relatively short for the diameter � only 600mm. We have a pair of identical lenses in identical mounts but we have listed them individually. The price listed is for a single objective in mount.
The lens is in excellent condition � no separation and no blemishes on the glass or in the coatings.

This item is a Klinger (also known as Micro-Controle, and now manufactured by Newport) SL type Gimbal optic mount. The SL gimbals are characterized by massive steel construction with two mounting flats for orthogonal positioning of the tilting axes so the controls are on the right or left side of the beam path. The two planes of tilt perfectly intersect the plane of the optic (often a mirror) so adjusting azimuth or elevation results in the reflection point always being stationary on the optic axis. The elements are held in place by a spring-loaded ring. There are three small bearing points to precisely locate the optic in the main yoke, and another three within the spring-loaded clamping ring (this ring is absent). The securing screws are not quite symmetrically placed to aid in removal of elements through the slightly larger opening.
This particular gimbal mount uses the type BHc locking adjusters. The adjustment screws are set with an Allen wrench, and the collar is tapped in four places for convenient access to a set screw for locking the adjustment screw. The sensitivity of these adjusters matches that of the standard BM micrometers � about 1 micron.

This item is a Klinger (also known as Micro-Controle, and now manufactured by Newport) SL type Gimbal optic mount. The SL gimbals are characterized by massive steel construction with two mounting flats for orthogonal positioning of the tilting axes so the controls are on the right or left side of the beam path. The two planes of tilt perfectly intersect the plane of the optic (often a mirror) so adjusting azimuth or elevation results in the reflection point always being stationary on the optic axis. The elements are held in place by a spring-loaded ring. There are three small bearing points to precisely locate the optic in the main yoke, and another three within the spring-loaded clamping ring (the clamping ring is absent). The securing screws are not quite symmetrically placed to aid in removal of elements through the slightly larger opening.
This particular gimbal mount uses the standard �BM� type micrometer. Readings do not correspond to angular rotation, but they are repeatable, and graduated to 10 microns (sensitivity of setting is approximately 1 micron).
