Ealing Triangular Bench Short Pillar
$18.00This is a short pillar for use with various Ealing triangular optical bench carriers. The pillar is 56mm tall and has three mounting counterbores for attaching to the carriers which are threaded to receive them. The bore in the pillar is 13.7mm in diameter, with a second eccentric bore directly opposite the clamp screw so smaller diameter posts can be clamped accurately. Smallest recommended diameter is 10mm. The part number of the holder is 22-4063.
The pillars are in great condition � most are gray color, although we occasionally see the later black ones.

The rest of the table surface is perfectly flat and remains plane-parallel with the base. A completely flat �table� surface is afforded by merely inverting the jack.

Klinger SK 51mm Gimbal Mount with Differential
$610.00This item is a Klinger Model SK Gimbal Mount for optics of 51mm diameter. These gimbals are somewhat more sensitive for mirror adjustment than the SL type gimbals. This particular mount is unusual in that there are two methods for securing optics or mirrors. The first method is identical to that found in the more common SL type gimbal mounts. There is a spring-loaded ring with a pair of threaded posts to accommodate lenses or mirrors with edge thicknesses of up to 12mm. There is a recess in the gimbal mount machined for 51mm diameter lenses, with three precision bearing points that are perfectly matched to the common tilting planes for azimuth and elevation. The securing ring is likewise fitted with the three bearing points. The two posts are slightly asymmetrical in order to allow easier exchange of the components via the larger of the openings.
The second mode of mounting is for larger-than-specified 51mm mirrors. The recess on the opposite side of the ring mount is stepped and will accommodate mirrors in several sizes up to 63mm in diameter. There are three spring-loaded arms that secure the mirror into the appropriate recess. By reversing the mirrors so they face away from the mounting surface it is possible to use very steep grazing reflection angles.

This item is a Klinger (also known as Micro-Controle, and now manufactured by Newport) SL type Gimbal optic mount. The SL gimbals are characterized by massive steel construction with two mounting flats for orthogonal positioning of the tilting axes so the controls are on the right or left side of the beam path. The two planes of tilt perfectly intersect the plane of the optic (often a mirror) so adjusting azimuth or elevation results in the reflection point always being stationary on the optic axis. The elements are held in place by a spring-loaded ring. There are three small bearing points to precisely locate the optic in the main yoke, and another three within the spring-loaded clamping ring (this ring is absent). The securing screws are not quite symmetrically placed to aid in removal of elements through the slightly larger opening.
This particular gimbal mount uses the type BHc locking adjusters. The adjustment screws are set with an Allen wrench, and the collar is tapped in four places for convenient access to a set screw for locking the adjustment screw. The sensitivity of these adjusters matches that of the standard BM micrometers � about 1 micron.

Design Components DC-1010R XY Linear Stage, 6-inch
$1,150.00This is a Design Components linear motorized stage consisting of two linears arranged in an XY configuration. Each linear motion slide is 15 x 10 inches (base and top plate same). There is a mounting plate for NEMA 23 motors that is proud of the base long dimension by 0.720�. The flex coupling is present on both stages, but both motors are absent. Each stage has a 6-inch range of motion and runs on cross-roller bearings.
Each linear has an end-stop detector system fixed to one side with adjustable limit plates. All four plates are present, and the cable for both axes terminates in a single connector (see third photo). Each linear stage is 3� tall, so the pair is 6 inches tall. The upper slide is pin-registered to the lower slide, and may be removed if desired. Model number of the stage is DC-1010R Serial number is M1-11. The complete stage weighs close to 77 pounds without motors.
The stage appears to be in excellent condition. Both linears were run to the limits of their excursions without any problems. The lead screws appears to be a ball-screw type and very little force was required to actuate the stage
I was unable to find out any of the specifications on this stage, but it certainly appears that it is meant to support hundreds of pounds.

Unknown Massive Steel Linear Stage, 2-inch
$875.00This is a really massive linear translation table with a 2-inch range of motion. The platform runs on cross-roller bearings. The table is constructed of steel and has provisions for mounting a micrometer drum and stop unit on either side. In the current configuration, the spindle is fixed to the base, the stop to the moving table. The stop block has three selectable positions . The stop segment is independently adjustable. The micrometer spindle holder may be installed in four separate positions. On the opposite side it appears the spindle may be mounted on the upper table with the stop block facing the opposite direction (see fourth photo).
The base is heavily reinforced with cast webbing (see fifth photo). Both the entire top surface and the four corner positioning feet are precision ground to a mirror finish. The included micrometer spindle is a Mitutoyo 0-1 inch, reading to 0.0001 inches.

Low-Profile Linear Stage, Stainless Steel, 2-inch
$265.00This stage is similar in appearance to some of the stainless steel Klinger and Micro Controle stages I have seen, however, all of the hardware and hole patterns / spacing are English. The stage does have crossed-roller bearings, so it should have very good load-bearing capability. There is also a locking screw opposite the micrometer spindle. The construction of the locking mechanism is such that the stage is checked positively without undue stress being placed on the bearings.

$600.00This is a very unusual mount. It is a Klinger (later merged with Micro Controle) four-axis optical mount. There is one orthogonally placed pair of spindles to achieve a small amount of motion in the Y and Z direction (optic axis being X). There is an additional pair of spindles for adjustment in a theta plane, also oriented in the X and Y directions. The mounting plate is 57mm in diameter. This mount is supplied with the plate with an RMS objective thread. The two parts supplied together form catalog number 133 321.
