$1,050.00This is an aluminized 8 inch diameter parabolic mirror. The mirror was figures from a blank of poured Pyrex glass. The focal length is 130 inches resulting in an f-ratio of 16.25. Condition of the mirror is excellent � just a couple of voids in the coating at the very margin where it was secured by a retaining ring. Thickness at the margin is 1.39 inches with a relief of about 0.125 inches on the back of the mirror.

Klinger 1-inch Gimbal Mount
$280.00Klinger 1-inch Gimbal Mount BM micrometer
This item is a Klinger (also known as Micro-Controle, and now manufactured by Newport) SL type Gimbal optic mount. The SL gimbals are characterized by massive steel construction with two mounting flats for orthogonal positioning of the tilting axes so the controls are on the right or left side of the beam path. The two planes of tilt perfectly intersect the plane of the optic (often a mirror) so adjusting azimuth or elevation results in the reflection point always being stationary on the optic axis. The elements are held in place by a spring-loaded ring. There are three small bearing points to precisely locate the optic in the main yoke, and another three within the spring-loaded clamping ring. The securing screws are not quite symmetrically placed to aid in removal of elements through the slightly larger opening.
This particular gimbal mount uses the standard �BM� type micrometer. Readings do not correspond to angular rotation, but they are repeatable, and graduated to 10 microns (sensitivity of setting is approximately 1 micron).

$260.00This is a rotary attachment, possibly manufactured by Design Components (it was attached to one of their XY motorized stages). The rotary motion is via a massive bearing (5 inches in diameter). The fixed square plate has a square bolt hole pattern for �-20 Allen cap screws, 5.500 inches square. The rotary hub has a 2.75 inch diameter bolt circle with 8 equally spaced holes, all tapped for �-20 screws.

Clearance of rotary hub above bearing retaining ring � 0.75 inchesCondition of the attachment is superb. There is one small ding in the bearing retaining ring that does not affect function, otherwise like new. There is no provision for motorizing the rotation, nor is there any means of clamping the rotation. Rotation is very firm without the slightest trace of backlash.

Unertl 7.5 inch Mirror Mount with Hood
$750.00This item is a Rara Unertl adjustable mirror mount. The diameter of the mounting plate is 7.5�, and a nicely fabricated hood has been fixed to the circumference. The base does not appear to be original, nor does the back plate, although all the positioning screws and ball-pivot joint are certainly original Unertl parts.
The mounting plate does have some wear marks near the center. Adjustment screws and piston are in near-perfect condition both cosmetically and functionally. The backing plate is very nicely machined, even though it is almost certainly not original. The angle plate will require some sort of riser block in order for the mirror mount to clear the base plate.

This Design Components Inc. rotary stage is worm driven. The bearings appear to be either Teflon or Delren sleeve bearings. The motor does not have a type number. The table must be used horizontally since it runs in an oil bath (level monitor window is recessed on the side of the housing).
