Distal end of probe is 0.370 inches (for 7.750 inches � steps up to .875 inches in diameter (that portion is 13 inches long, with a conical connection between the two diameters. Large diameter is graduated in inches, with divisions every 0.100 inch.
Right-angle viewing with illumination via fiber optics. Fiber optic armor-clad, with illumination centering puck on distal end. Active bundle diameter is 0.162 inches. Length of fiber optic lead is approximately six feet. Diameter of adapter at fiber bundle end is 1.560 inches.
Magnification adjustment ring marked �magnification factor�, graduated from 1 to 8.5 (with 10 divisions between numbers). Changing this setting seemed not so much to change the magnification but the focus point of the borescope. The borescope is missing the ocular (captive threaded ring is present, but the ocular is missing). Using an ocular from another instrument I determined that the closest focus point is about 4.5 inches away from the side mirror, and by adjusting the ring, I was able to focus to infinity. Therefore this instrument is for looking into cavities � you cannot focus on the wall of a bore that isn�t much larger than the diameter of the probe.

$40.00This is a very small machinists translation stage. There are no fixture holes in the top surface but there is a bolt-hole pattern for securing the lower �fixed� plate of the stage. The stage uses a micrometer screw with a graduated (0.001� per division) knurled head to advance the table. The stage uses dovetail ways with an adjustable gib. There is no lost motion in the dovetail, and the adjustment screw has very little end-play. Total travel is a bit more than ��, and overall size of the upper (smooth) plate not including the side plate with the micrometer is 2.00� x 3.00�. Height of the stage is 0.910�. Construction is exclusively steel with the exception of the leadscrew nut which is of brass.

The Rudolph Film Thickness Monitor (FTM) is an instrument to measure the thickness of films by means of a non-contact measurement method. Their method is based on the reflection of light from the surface and as such is a contactless probe. Considerable computation is required and unambiguous results are only obtained if it is known a priory that the film thickness lies within a specified range, usually 0 to about 3000 �. The optical techniques are based on the wavelength and/or angle of incidence dependence of the reflectivity.
