Nikon PK-3 27.5mm Extension Tube with
$40.00This extension tube is one half the focal length of the standard Nikon 55mm camera lens. It may be used for 1:1 close-up photography with the 55mm Micro-Nikkor while maintaining auto-diaphragm coupling. The tube does not have the more recent (AI) meter coupling. It should not be used with later AI cameras (the PK-13 tube should be used instead).
The tube is in excellent (almost mint) condition.

Diagnostic Instruments Microscope Clamp Tube
$65.00This is a tube clamp adapter for Diagnostic Instruments CCD camera coupler. The camera couplers are designed to accept interchangeable couplers for the various manufacturer’s instruments. The type of coupler is not marked on this clamp which indicates it to be of earlier manufacture.
Critical dimensions of the coupler are as follows:
Upper tube assembly is 54.8mm tall and 49mm in diameter at the base of the flange. The lower portion of the tube is 37mm in diameter and 31mm tall. This diameter fits the most recent of the Leica Microsystems research microscopes as well as several of the stereo microscopes and later versions of their Macroscopes.
The tube is in excellent condition, but is missing two of the three set screws used to secure it to the relay assembly.

Sony Bayonet Mount Relay lens for Leitz Photo
$250.00This is an unusual relay system for adapting a Sony-type bayonet mount video camera to Leitz microscope phototubes. The adapter includes a relay optic (magnification factor not stated) in a threaded helical cell inside the bayonet mount at the top of the tube. The bottom portion of the adapter is designed to slip over the 40mm diameter upper portion of the Leitz eyepiece phototube adapter (either the standard 23.2mm type or the larger 30mm GW adapter is suitable). The relay lens is to be used in conjunction with an appropriate Leitz ocular.
No manufacturer is stated, but there is a serial number on the side of the unit (1110). The unit is nicely made and in excellent condition.

Gaertner M242 Ramsden 10x Ocular in Excellent
$60.00This is the standard ocular as supplied with the Gaertner modular microscope system. Please note that the ocular does not include a reticle adapter tube. That part must be interposed between the microscope body tube and the ocular. If using an image erection system, this adapter is not required.

Spencer Lens Triple Objective Turret (RMS
$35.00This is an interesting antique triple position revolving nosepiece. It is marked ‘Spencer Lens Company’ which dates it before the mid-1930’s takeover of that firm by the American Optical Company. The nosepiece has the standard RMS threads in all positions. The detent mechanism is very interesting and unique. At each threaded objective position a steel rod with a slot has been inserted through a bore on the periphery of the nosepiece. An internal spring arrests the nosepiece at each stop position. The nosepiece has a fixed RMS thread for attachment to various microscope tubes with a nickel-plated collar used to lock the nosepiece in the proper orientation.
The nosepiece is in excellent condition. There is some minor wear in the black lacquer finish, but the detent spring is strong with very positive stops at each position. This would date from the late 1920’s to early 1930’s.

Bausch & Lomb Centerable Quadruple
$160.00This is a very scarce quadruple revolving nosepiece with the provision for centration of each of the objectives. This is particularly useful when employing a rotating stage and it is desired to have the axis of stage rotation perfectly centered within the field of view. It is also invaluable in certain metrollogy applications. The detent is via a spring-loaded ball-bearing. The objective threads are standard RMS. This nosepiece was designed for installation on the modular microscope bodies after removing the single-position spacer ring. The threaded attachment collar also uses an RMS thread allowing the nosepiece to be installed on other microscope tubes.
The nosepiece is in perfect condition with very strong detents and no discernible wear.

Bausch & Lomb Microscope Body, Course
$175.00This is a classic modular Bausch & Lomb microscope tube assembly with independent course & fine focus knobs located on either side of the focus block. The range of course motion is approximately 35mm. The tube cannot be driven beneath the bottom end of travel because the viewing head acts as a limit stop. The fine adjustment is graduated and has a range in excess of 2mm.
The microscope body has straight viewing tube for observation. This may be exchanged with an optional inclined viewing tube (not included).
The mechanism has been cleaned and relubricated. These instruments are in excellent cosmetic condition and fully functional in all respects.

Ealing / Beck 50mm / 0.08 n.a. Long-Distance
$60.00This Beck objective is marked only with its focal length (50mm) and the numerical aperture (0.08). The objective was intended for use on long focal length microscopes or telescopes. The thread is standard RMS. Objective aperture is approximately 13mm.
The lens is in excellent condition (no flaws visible in the glass) and comes in a Cooke, Troughton & Simms capsule. These objectives were often employed in cathetometers and coordinate measuring instruments.

Leitz Wollaston Prism in Adapter for NPL 20x Pol
$220.00This is a Wollaston prism in a special 15mm long spacer adapter. It converts a 20x NPL (or NPL Fluotar) objective of 30mm adjustment length into a Nomarski interference contrast objective. The adapter is first threaded into the nosepiece, then the objective threaded into the adapter, forming a DIN standard 45mm adjustment length system. The three set screws about the perimeter of the adapter are released which allows the objective (along with the Wollaston prism within the adapter) to be axially rotated. When the shear direction is in the proper orientation with respect to the crossed analyzer and polarizer, the set screws are fixed.
Other elements needed for interference contrast include an analyzer slider with a fixed orientation polarizing filter, a special rotating polarizer / first-order red combination that is specific to the stand on which it is employed, and of course, the 20x objective. The prism is in perfect condition. The chrome plated cell shows some very minor discolorations.

Ealing / Beck Microscope Condenser Mount
Call 781-871-8868 for Price
This is a very fine condenser holder which I believe is from the Ealing / Beck Research Optical Bench. It is exquisitely made and all motions are perfectly free of backlash and exceptionally smooth. It includes a pin mounting. One of the two centering screws is missing the milled adjusting head, but it still moves freely. It should be replaced for more efficient use.
The condenser mount accepts sleeve-type condensers of 38.75mm diameter. There is a locking screw for securing the condenser. The condenser may be centered to the optic axis with plus / minus 1.5mm axial motion. The two centering screws are located at right angles to each other so motion is imparted in an orthogonal manner. Once the condenser has been centered, a locking screw coaxial to the spring plunger is used to prevent further drift. The rack and pinion focus drive has an excursion of approximately 20mm..
The pin is 12mm in diameter and 58mm long. Distance from nominal optical center to the pinion base (top of pin) is 45mm. The dovetail for the motion has a cylindrical profile which is very unusual.
