The objective was removed from an KLA project that was never commissioned. There are light marks on the knurling that were left by a protective shroud, since removed. The glass is flawless. This was a specially mounted version of the PL 20x for use on KLA wafer inspection stations. There is no spring-loading for sample / objective protection. As such, the objective is most suitable as a replacement lens for KLA systems, but it may also be used on any Leitz metallurgical vertical illuminator that has an RMS thread. It may also be used on the more recent systems when employing an RMS to 32mm thread adapter.
