B&L Rotating Focus Mount ER for Stereo
$90.00
The B&L ‘ER-Arm’ is distinguished by its ability to allow rotation of a stereo microscope body about its optic axis. The rack & pinion focus drive is attached to various microscope stands via a pin on the back of the drive housing – the pin may be set at any angle from straight down to straight up.
This arm is especially suited to the larger boom type stands where the ability to rotate the pod is helpful as the boom is moved to various points over a specimen. The rotation feature precludes the port for a Nicholas illuminator.
These arms are of the later variety with a ‘low-profile’ flat rotating plate for reception of the microscope pod. Another unusual feature of the later ER-arms is the ability to invert the rotation plate within the ring. This gives additional versatility to positioning the pod relative to a stand and or specimen. Reversing the plate is very simple – the two retaining clips for the pod are simply swung to the center of the ring thus releasing the glide catch. B&L did make a special holder for the Nicholas illuminator that can be clipped to the side of the support ring.
The arms have been checked for proper operation, and range from excellent to near-mint condition. Photos are of typical example.
