HP 70001A Mainframe for Modular Measurement System
$180.00This is the mainframe portion of the Hewlett Packard HP 70000 Modular Measurement System (MMS). The HP70001A will accept eight 1/8-width modules and is either connected to an external display (such as the HP70206A or the color HP70004A) or used with in internal display module HP70205A which is 3/8 modules wide. When connected to an external display, a pair of special modular system interface bus cables are needed (MSIB cables). More than one mainframe may be daisy-chained together. All module slots within the mainframe are connected by an internal MSIB bus.
The mainframe was tested to power up, but we lack both the interconnect cables and the display with which to more fully test the mainframe. However, considering the source of this equipment, we are able to offer a return privilege should the mainframe not function properly. No connection cables are supplied with the mainframe.
PLEASE NOTE! Only two of the module slot dress covers are supplied with each mainframe (five are shown in the photos).
Instruments are in great cosmetic condition.

The 11970K extends the frequency range of the Agilent E4407B ESA-E series portable spectrum analyzer, the Agilent 8560 E-series portable spectrum analyzers, the Agilent 8566B spectrum analyzer (used with the Agilent 11975A amplifier), and the Agilent 70000 modular measurement system (used with the Agilent 70907A/B external mixer interface modules).

The HP 70842A occupies 418 MMS module slot and has five Input/Output ports, two on the front panel and three on the rear panel. Operating Frequency Range: HP 70842A: 100Mbit/s to 3Gbit/s. Patterns PRBS, zero substitution/variable mark density test patterns, and word test patterns are as specified for pattern generator modules. The Error Detector counts bit errors by comparing the incoming data bit-by-bit with the internally generated reference pattern. All measurements run during the gating periods, with the exception of Delta Error Count and Delta Error Ratio which run continuously. The error analysis measurements are based on CCITT Rec G.821 and derived from the bit error results. Front Panel LEDs for Gating, Clock Loss, Data Loss, Sync Loss, Errors, and HP-IB / MSIB.
