  • Keuffel & Esser Optics and Metrology Mount, 71-5082

    $275.00

    This item is a Keuffel & Esser optical and metrology cradle mount. It has the standard 3.5 inch by 8 TPI thread in the base for attaching to standard tripods, dollies, and trivets. The upper side of the carrier has a dovetail four inches wide but 10 inches in length. There is a cylinder head cap screw on one end of the dovetail, and it looks like there is a position for a second such stop screw, however it is not present. The mount is in very good condition. The part number on the cradle is 71-5082. It does not seem to be a current production item BrunsonKC does not list it in their catalog. The green texture paint would indicate the cradle was made during the 1960s, possibly early 1970s.

  • HP 10724A Plane Mirror

    $160.00

    This item is an HP 10724A Plane Mirror. It is a component in the Hewlett-Packard Laser Interferometry Distance Measurement Apparatus. The mirror is used in conjunction with various 1.5 cube interferometer bodies. Unlike a corner-cube retroreflector, the plane mirror must be critically aligned to the interferometer. The leveling screws are not present and the special spring-loaded attachment screws are lacking. The device is also missing the label, but is otherwise in excellent condition. Mirror is flawless. Because of the missing components and the light cosmetic blemishes in the chrome finish this item has been rated as second grade.

  • HP 10710A Leveling Mount (Sm) with 45-

    $50.00

    This is an assembly consisting of an HP 10710A Small Leveling Base on which a 45-degree fully reflecting prism has been cemented. Although the prism could have been used to deflect a beam downwards through the aperture in the base, the excess cement that covers the face of the prism adjacent to the base would preclude such use much of the aperture is filled with cement. Therefore it was intended for use in directing a beam upwards at right-angles to the base-plate.

    The prisms are very rigidly mounted. Rather than break the prisms in an effort to remove them, we have decided to offer them in the condition found. The first-surface mirror is in excellent condition, and the prisms (although exposed) have not been chipped or damaged.

    Dimensions of the base are as follows.

    Height = 0.5

    Width = 1.1

    Length = 1.85

    Through-bore in base = 0.5

    Prism face 20mm square

    These components have been removed from various fixtures. They meet our requirements for second quality used interferometer components. All mechanical adjustments work smoothly and there are no gouges or distortions in any of the parts that would in any way impede accuracy of measurements. Cosmetically these components appear only lightly used, however I doubt the prisms can be removed without damaging the glass. No hardware is included other than the two screws used to secure the cradle to the base.

  • Hewlett Packard 10567A Beam Splitter, 1st Grade

    $195.00

    This item is an HP 10567A Dual Beam Beam-Splitter. This is a rather elaborate component in the Hewlett-Packard Laser Interferometry Dimensional Measurement System. It is intended for use with two axis stages. There is a single 45-degree diagonal mirror mounted within the block, but it is not face-centered. The mirror has three zones of reflectance (or transmission), and three apertures on the side of the block facing the laser source. The lowest aperture is uncoated so the entire beam passes straight through the block The central aperture is where the source laser enters the block. The substrate at that point has a 50% coating, so half of the energy is reflected to the top on the block, and the remainder passes straight through. The upper aperture (on the side facing the laser) has a 100% mirror all the light flux is diverted at right angles.

    The outer two apertures on the side facing the laser are intended for the return beams from the interferometer bodies in each axis. The receivers may be placed on the same side of the block as the laser source. This is very useful when there are space constraints.

    These components have been removed from various fixtures. They meet our requirements for first quality used interferometer components. All optical surfaces are free of blemishes and there are no gouges or distortions in any of the parts that would in any way impede accuracy of measurements. • Hewlett Packard 10700A 33% Splitter

    $105.00

    This item is an HP 10700A 33% Beam Splitter. It is a basic component of the Hewlett Packard Laser Interferometry Distance Measuring Apparatus. It is one of several components based on a 1 steel cube. The cube has a beam-splitting reflector set at 45-degrees and face-centered to three adjacent faces. The mirror surface is coated. These components are useful when it is desired to have three axes tied to a single laser (each axis will require its own interferometer and detector, however). The first beam-splitter in the system would be the 33% splitter, leaving roughly 66% of the beam to travel to a second 50% beam-splitter for the other two axes. In that manner each receiver will be working at approximately the same power level.
    , 2nd Grade
    The angle of the beam-splitter is not critically set within the cube in order to keep component prices reasonable. For precise positioning it is recommended that the beam-splitter is fixtured using a small leveling base (HP 10710A). These mounts allow for corrections in two directions. Pitch may be adjusted through several degrees about the axis of the mirror component by resetting the cradle position in the base, and yaw may be adjusted using the play in the elongated slots for securing the base. The base of the mount has an open aperture so the beam path may be directed through the base of the fixture. Beams should ONLY be deflected at right angles in each laser / detector assembly in order to avoid depolarization of the laser beams. Beams can be deflected through an aperture in the base of the mount for utmost versatility.

    These components have been removed from various fixtures. They meet our requirements for second quality used interferometer components. All optical surfaces are free of serious blemishes and there are no gouges or distortions in any of the parts that would in any way impede accuracy of measurements. Cosmetically these components appear in very fine condition, although not new. Unlike new components, no hardware is included.

    $20.00

    This is a specialized objective lens taken from a modest-sized Nikon Profile projector. It is engraved merely ‘Insp. L.’ – no magnification or any other marks on the lens. The projector was woefully incomplete and was parted out some time ago.

    Cosmetic condition of the barrel is very good – however the lens itself does suffer from numerous fine scratches from careless cleaning (last photo shows them much more pronounced than they actually are – the wonders of digital photography). The objective thread is 28.1 mm in diameter – rather odd. . . We are also offering the other objectives from this projector as well as the original turret. Please check our other listings.
