The input is limited to 110 to 127V at 50 to 60 Hz. Output is stepped between 3.9V and 6.6V.

The transformer has been tested working at all output levels. It is in excellent cosmetic condition.

This power supply was manufactured for Gaertner Scientific by Electro Power Pacs of Cambridge, MA. It consists of an independent on-off switch and pilot lamp and a continually adjustable output knob graduated from 2v to 8v. The power supply output is rated at 40W (2V to 8V at 3.7A). The EPP model number is 1258 and the Gaertner model number 271T.

The transformer is in superb condition and has been checked for proper function.

This listing for a semi-automatic film camera for photomicrography consists of four separate components. The main part is the PM-PBK shutter housing contains an silicon blue cell photo sensor with a large dial for combined ASA setting and exposure time setting. An LED display indicates the estimated exposure time (four different ranges) with further indication of over / under exposure warnings. The shutter unit has provision for accepting the focusing magnifier with format outlines, but this option is not included here..

The separate control unit, part PM-CBK, for this shutter housing insures vibration-free exposures. The panel is simple with just an ‘expose’ button and a manual exposure override pair of buttons. The connection cable between the shutter unit and the control panel is not present (14-contact Centronics-type cable, male to male). The Olympus part number for the missing cable is UYKK26.

The shutter housing has the PM-DL-W large-format cone adapter with relay lens. It is further provisioned with the Polaroid Film Back PM-CP-W. This back accepts the Polaroid 405 3.25 x 4.25 inch film packs. The cone adapter also will accept a 4×5 film holder back (PM-C4X5-W), but that is not included.

We have no way to test the device without the connection cable, but it is in very fine cosmetic condition.

This is a sleeve mounted polarizer in a rotating cell. The polarizer still functions as far as extinction is concerned, however it has badly delaminated from the glass sandwich and is unsuitable for the imaging side of a system. It may still be employed as a substage polarizer for transmitted light applications.

The machining is very nice, with a broad milled knurl for turning the polarizer. A plastic clamp screw secures the assembly to a suitable sleeve.

The objective is in a continuously threaded cell with a stop collar which is supplied with a set screw. This allows the magnification of the objective to be precisely set relative to a scale in the eyepiece tube adapter. Focal length is specified on these lenses rather than magnification.

When used with the most commonly supplied M242 10x ocular, the resulting field-of-view is 3.43mm in diameter, with a nominal magnification of 32x. The working distance is 47.8mm.

This lens is in good condition, but the stop ring has been cut (see photo). The coating on the lens surface is slightly crazed, but the glass is in excellent condition.

This is a mint condition pair of wide field eyepieces with the 30mm diameter sleeve. They were manufactured by Bausch & Lomb just before the merger with Cambridge Instruments. The B&L logo has been rebranded with a Cambridge Instruments foil. These oculars fit the SZ-6 Plus stereo zoom microscopes. They have a 20mm field-of-view index (the observable field diameter equals 20mm when the zoom setting is at 1x).

The eyepieces are in superb condition without any flaws. Catalog number is 31-15-77..

These tubes are principally designed to be employed with the Model 1860 Industrial Measuring Microscope and the Model 3003 Modular Measuring microscope. This image erection assembly may be interposed between the top of those stands and the observation tube. The tube provides an unreversed and right-side-up image in the binocular tube. It also increases the magnification of the system by a factor of 1.5x.

The tubes are in near-mint cosmetic condition and flawless optical condition.

This is the standard ocular as supplied with the Gaertner modular microscope system. Please note that the ocular does not include a reticle adapter tube. That part must be interposed between the microscope body tube and the ocular. If using an image erection system, this adapter is not required.

This ocular is in fine cosmetic conditions (some marks in the edge of the anodized bezel) and very good optical condition. The coating of the field lens at the base of the ocular is not uniform. The glass does not appear to be scratched but the coating is thin and appears to have some light scratches. They are not imaged within the eyepiece so it is functional but not perfect. (See last photo).
