Newport 818-IS-1 Universal Fiber Optic
This Newport Research Corp 818-IS-1 Universal Fiber Optic Detector came from a working environment but has not been tested. Please call us for more information.
From manufacturer website: The 818-IS-1 Universal Fiber Optic Detector uses a symmetrical integrating sphere design to ensure the most accurate calibration possible regardless of the fiber type measured. The integrating sphere uses a novel dual detector design with special optics that improve temperature sensitivity markedly from ordinary detectors. It is fully calibrated to traceable standards over the wavelength range of 410�1650 nm. The 818-IS-1 is compatible with Newport’s legacy power meters utilizing calibration modules. Maximum versatility is provided by the detector�s dual port design. A variety of adaptors for connector-terminated fibers are provided and plug into the detector�s front port. The rear port is designed to measure light from straight and angle cleaved bare fibers using Newport�s FP3-FH1 bare fiber holder. (Adapters are included with each detector together with a rugged carrying case.)
One of the adapters in the kit is missing and the allen wrenches are missing.
The bare fiber holder is missing the inside clamping liner.

According to the manufacturer this Motorola MBS4991 Diode Thyristor is designed for full-wave triggering in Triac phase control circuits, half-wave SCR triggering application and as voltage level detectors. Supplied in an inexpensive plastic TO-226AA package for high-volume requirements, this low-cost plastic package is readily adaptable for use in automatic insertion equipment.
This Diode Thyristor has the following specifications:
• Low Switching Voltage — 8 Volts Typical
• Uniform Characteristics in Each Direction
• Low On-State Voltage — 1.7 Volts Maximum
• Low Off-State Current — 0.1 µA Maximum
• Low Temperature Coefficient — 0.02 %/°C Typical
