TSI Model 345001 Vibrating Orifice Aerosol Generator.
This is being sold as is . There are no accessories, only a power cord which we supply.
Purpose & Operation
-
The TSI Vibrating Orifice Aerosol Generator (VOAG) creates highly uniform droplets or particles by passing a liquid jet through a vibrating orifice. A piezoelectric drive vibrates the orifice, causing the jet to break into consistent droplets—typically achieving a standard deviation of less than 1% relative to the mean size.
-
dditional steps, such as suspending the droplet stream in a turbulent air jet and using dry air, help disperse droplets and evaporate solvents, resulting in the final aerosol.
-
It typically works with a syringe pump for consistent liquid flow and offers interchangeable orifices (10 µm, 20 µm, and larger) for varying droplet size ranges.
Performance
-
Particle size range: Generates droplets in the approximate range of 1 to 200 µm—or initially 20 to 400 µm before evaporation—or similar metrics depending on setup.
-
Known for producing particles with uniform size, shape, density, and surface characteristics.
pplication & Research Use
-
The Model 345001 variant is referenced in academic research as a reliable source for generating monodisperse aerosol particles, such as tocopheryl acetate or oleic acid droplets.
