PMC481 PMC Audio Card – Multichannel Industrial Sound Card with Crystal CS4281 Controller

This used PMC481 is a multichannel audio card designed for industrial and embedded applications . It occupies a single PMC slot (IEEE 1386.1-2001 compliant) and is based on the Crystal CS4281 PCI Audio Interface Controller and the CS4299 Audio Codec ’97 .

The card provides four audio connections via 3.5mm stereo jacks on the front panel: Line In, Line Out, Microphone In (mono), and Speaker Out . The speaker output includes an onboard stereo amplifier, and the card features a current limiter to prevent over-draw from the +12V supply .

Rear I/O Expansion: The audio signals are also available via the rear PMC connector (Jn4), allowing connection to optional PIM481-J (3.5mm jacks) or PIM481-DSUB (D-sub) rear transition modules (RTM) . Driver support for the CS4281 is included in operating systems like Windows (up to XP), Linux, and VxWorks (via OpenSound) .

A conduction-cooled version (ccPMC481) is also available, offering an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C . This particular unit appears to be the standard PMC481.
