This is an intermediate adapter for an Olympus PM photomicrography system. It is interposed between the shutter housing and a manual 35mm film back such as the C-35 series. The adapter does not include electrical contacts required for the motorized 35mm backs.
The adapter is in unused condition and includes a plastic cover for the camera side. The Olympus catalog notation is PM-D35.
