This used Lincoln Electric K1297 is a classic AC/DC stick welder from the renowned AC-225 series, upgraded with smoother, more stable DC welding output . This machine is ideal for farm, shop, and home use where improved arc welding performance is desired .
The welder provides a 225 amp AC output (enough for 3/16″ diameter general-purpose mild steel electrodes) and a 125 amp DC output (enough for most 1/8″ electrodes) . The DC arc is smoother and more stable than AC-only models, making it easier to weld with different electrodes including mild steel, low hydrogen, stainless steel, and hardfacing electrodes .
Key features include a front-mounted AC/DC polarity switch, a full-range amperage selector switch (40-225A AC / 30-125A DC), fan cooling, and a traditional, proven design . The unit is UL-listed, CSA-approved, and NEMA-rated (60 Hz only) .
