This is a Oriel 17701 Adjustable 2 inch Mirror Mount.
This item is an Oriel High Precision Mirror Mount, model 17701. The mount will accept mirrors of 50mm diameter and up to � inch thickness. There are two orthogonal motions that are completely independent of each other. The range of motion is 4 degrees for each axis. The controls are side mounted so it is easy to adjust them without disturbing the optical path. Sensitivity (resolution) for each axis is 0.1 arc seconds. The mounts are very temperature stable – the leadscrew for adjustment of the axes are designed with a similar coefficient of expansion to the aluminum used in the mounts themselves.
The mirror mount is only about 5 1/8� wide including the adjustment knobs. Clear aperture with the mount at a 45 degree angle is 0.55�.
This mounting is in very fine condition – both axes work perfectly. The mounts may have signs of modest use.
