Pillar Stand for Stereo Microscope
This pillar stand includes a large 100mm diameter flange at the base of the pillar with which it may be permanently attached to a table-top or a baseplate of custom manufacture. The pillar is 370mm tall and 29mm in diameter. It includes a clamping ring to support the cross-bar adapter. The horizontal boom is 460mm long (not including the adapter) and also 1 inch in diameter. There is a milled channel in the boom to prevent rotation..
The end of the boom carries an adapter that at first appears to be for pin-type carriers, but the inside diameter of the bore is only 0.622 inches in diameter � too small for the standard pin by only 0.002 inches! It is easily removable and could be bored to the proper diameter on a lathe. We are not sure if there is a special Meiji part that is specific to the adapter the way it sits.
The piece is in excellent condition and all motions work smoothly.
