Kensington 4000D/A 5-Axis Controller (X, Y Axis
$1,175.00
The Kensington 4000 A/D 5-axis controller is designed to work with various Kensington stages and robotic fixtures. It was an A version that was upgraded to a D model in 1997. This upgrade usually involves installation of a new controller card and mother board. This controller will accept up to five axis driver cards and can be configured with multiple user and I/O interfaces. The controller is highly modular and consists of a 250w switching power supply module, the mother board, the controller processor board, and the optional axis driver cards (one devoted to each axis of motion).
Optional controller items include an IEEE-488 interface, a second RS232C interface, and an operator interface connector. The axis boards also can be configured with an optional counter / lock piggy-back board. This instrument is configured as follows:
X-Axis card
Y-Axis card
Serial number: 97 134 01
Two axis board power transistor pairs and harnesses present
RS232C, Operator Interface, and IEEE-488 connectors present
The axis boards are generic but have to be matched to the individual stage elements by using trim pots on the board. Each axis motion system typically includes a DC motor, a DC tachometer, and a position encoder. Equipment needed for calibration / matching is rudimentary a terminal connected to the Main Port Interface, and a 10MHz oscilloscope capable of displaying X-Y Lissajous patterns.
We will include a copy of the Kensington 4000 instruction manual. This manual covers installation as well as axis board calibration and matching the axis boards to the stages / fixtures involved. The controller is in very good condition. It is in the bench-top configuration (includes feet but lacks rack-ears).
