Holography Film Holder with Goniometer and Gimbal Adjustment
This is a very well made precision holder for holography film. The actual film holder accepts sheets 4 inches wide and 5 inches long (clear area). Film is rigidly held by two glass plates. The film holder may be removed for cleaning or loading.
The base of the holder is 6.25 x 9.25 inches and has two reference surfaces on either side of the long axis, as well as three reference pads on the bottom surface. Above the base is the first of two gimbal motions (azimuth). The next motion is the goniometer cradle, into which is set the elevation adjustment for the film holder receptacle. All adjustments are via super-fine thread screws (looks like 100 TPI).
Condition of the device is excellent. All motions work smoothly. The goniometer cradle runs on very large spherical bearings that are independently adjustable.
