Fiber Optic Ringlight Illuminator
This is a very nicely made fiber optic ring-light illuminator. The bundle is armored and vinyl clad. The input ferrule to the ringlight is angled so the bundle may be directed easily through the incident lamp port on the microscope yoke. The ringlight is not marked, but one of these came installed on an Olympus SZ40 stereo microscope, which it fits perfectly. One of the ringlights also had a clear plastic band attached to the bundle with a part number 700008560044 and Rev B on one line, and the numbers 12 04 073377 on the last line. Every aspect of the bundle is superbly finished, and there are no �dead� fibers. Overall bundle length is 1 meter.
The input ferrule is 15mm in diameter, and 21mm long, making it compatible with the Volpi and Scholly fiber optic light sources, however there is no shallow groove on the ferrule. Maximum diameter of the ferrule is 18.75mm (in case it needs to be fed through a lamp port in the microscope).
The ringlight has an outside diameter of 87.3mm, and a height of 19.25mm. The interior of the ringlight is tapered down to a narrow clamping ledge with an internal diameter of 55.75mm. Diameter of the internal step is 60.75mm. Diameter of the fiber exit cone is approximately 68mm. The ringlight is secured to the microscope via a clamping ring (not included � may be a part of the microscope)?
