Ealing 50mm Diameter Neutral Density Filter Set

Description

This is a very nice selection of Ealing neutral density filters. All the filters are 50mm in diameter, five of which have plastic cells. Clear aperture of the filters within the cells is 40mm. The filters appear to have a quartz substrate (they are very light, and Ealing typically used quartz for their reflective neutral density filters). Two filters do not have the plastic rings, nor is their any indication of transmission directly on the filters, however there are labels in the cabinet that match the transmission characteristics observed in the filters.

ND 0.1 � no cell, reflective type
ND 0.3 � in Ealing Cell, reflective type
ND 0.6 � in Ealing Cell, reflective type
ND 1.0 � in Ealing Cell, reflective type
ND 2.0 � in Ealing Cell, reflective type
ND 3.0 � in Ealing Cell, reflective type
ND 4.0 � no cell, reflective type, sandwiched

All of the filters are in perfect condition with the exception of the ND 3.0, which appears to have several microscopic pin-holes. There is also a darkish blemish on the surface of the filter (visible in the third photo), but this does not seem to show up in transmitted light. The filters are supplied in a nice fitted walnut cabinet with elastic retaining bands. There are no transmission curves for any of the filters.
