This used Coherent 7800 is a high-performance acousto-optic Q-switch designed for pulsed Nd:YAG laser systems operating at 1064 nm . The Q-switch is a critical component that allows a laser to produce short, high-energy pulses by modulating the resonator’s quality factor (Q) .
The crystal quartz AO medium offers excellent optical transmission and high damage threshold, making it suitable for demanding scientific and industrial applications. The device features an AR coating (R < 0.2%) for minimal insertion loss .
