The Connect Tech Orbitty Carrier is a compact carrier board designed for NVIDIA® Jetson™ TX2, TX2i, and TX1 modules, measuring 87mm x 50mm (3.425″ x 1.968″). It offers a range of interfaces, including 1x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0 OTG, 1x HDMI, 1x Gigabit Ethernet, 1x microSD slot, 2x 3.3V UART, I2C, and 4x GPIO, making it suitable for applications in robotics and unmanned systems.
Power Requirements and Operating Temperature:
-
Accepts a nominal input voltage of +9V to +14V DC, with a peak of up to +19V.
-
Designed to operate within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
Compatibility and Setup:
To ensure compatibility and optimal performance, it’s essential to install the appropriate Board Support Package (BSP) for the Orbitty Carrier. Connect Tech provides BSPs tailored for different versions of NVIDIA’s JetPack and Linux for Tegra (L4T). Detailed instructions for downloading and installing the BSP can be found in the Orbitty Carrier User Guide.
Thermal Considerations:
While the Orbitty Carrier itself supports a wide operating temperature range, the thermal specifications of the Jetson module must also be considered. Proper thermal management solutions should be implemented to maintain the module’s temperatures within recommended limits. Refer to NVIDIA’s Thermal Design Guides for detailed information on thermal management.
