Zeiss 32 mm Diameter Filter Holder

This is a standard Zeiss 32 mm diameter filter holder. It is the middle version of the holder, still made out of metal, but instead of black lacquered brass, it is made of anodized aluminum. It is earlier than the current plastic holders, however. The holder has an outside diameter of 40 mm. There is a ‘no-name’ neutral density filter installed in the holder. It looks like it was ground down from a larger diameter – the edges are rather rough, and there is a small chip on one side (see second photo). Not sure what the transmission characteristics of the ND filter are, but it is relatively low – on the order of 5 to 10 percent at a guess. The filter is a metallized film type, not an absorbing glass type.
Holder is in nice condition – a bit of wear on the black finish is about the extent of it.
