Base of enclosure has two square face-centered bolt patterns, a 63mm M4 for module 80 systems, and a 92mm M5 for module 120 systems.
The motor has been severely damaged and may not be repairable, however the stage itself is in very fine condition. You will most likely either need to replace the motor or to install a manual positioning actuator. Please see photos.

$180.00This is the mainframe portion of the Hewlett Packard HP 70000 Modular Measurement System (MMS). The HP70001A will accept eight 1/8-width modules and is either connected to an external display (such as the HP70206A or the color HP70004A) or used with in internal display module HP70205A which is 3/8 modules wide. When connected to an external display, a pair of special modular system interface bus cables are needed (MSIB cables). More than one mainframe may be daisy-chained together. All module slots within the mainframe are connected by an internal MSIB bus.
The mainframe was tested to power up, but we lack both the interconnect cables and the display with which to more fully test the mainframe. However, considering the source of this equipment, we are able to offer a return privilege should the mainframe not function properly. No connection cables are supplied with the mainframe.
PLEASE NOTE! Only two of the module slot dress covers are supplied with each mainframe (five are shown in the photos).

Gaertner Scientific Tilting 100mm Mirror Mount
$180.00This is a very nice Gaertner Scientific 100mm mirror mount on 0.500 inch pin base. Height of pivot axis above base is 75mm. Overall width of the holder is 140mm. Height of pin is 100mm..
This is a very interesting mount. There is an easily removable retaining ring (no tools required). Behind the locking ring is another ring that has three small but relatively strong springs fixed to its back. These in turn press against a ledge located on the rear of the cell. This ring then pushes the mirror or element against the retaining ring which acts as the reference plane. If a mirror or opaque element is being used, there is a thin cover plate that may be placed behind the spring ring that serves to protect the back side of the mirror. If a transmissive element is being used, then the cover plate may be omitted, yielding a clear aperture of 93mm.
There is a clamping screw for the horizontal tilting plane (vertical tilting plane is provided by the pin mount). A clamping sleeve for the post has been provided so the height is not disturbed when turning the holder on the pin axis.
The mount is in near-perfect condition. There are a couple of score marks in the chrome plating of the pin, but they are minor and they do not impede mounting the pin in a post-holder.

Ealing Spring-Grip Small Lens Holder, Pin Mount
$60.00This is a very elegant adjustable lens holder, manufactured by Ealing. There are a pair of shallow V-shaped jaws with an internal groove. The jaws are opened by squeezing their base. A spring-loaded piston plate bears against a cam on the bottom of the jaws, closing the jaws and holding lenses securely. The jaws will accept lenses ranging from 22mm to 50mm in diameter. The holder includes a standard diameter (13.7mm) post mounting pin. The Ealing part number is 22-8155.

This item is an Ealing rotary mounting table, 100mm in diameter. The table is graduated in single degrees about the periphery, and can be read to 5 minutes of arc via a vernier. The table may be clamped in any position by a thumb screw located underneath the table. The overall thickness of the platform is 15mm not including the mounting boss.
The table includes a standard 13.7mm diameter pin. The Ealing part number for the table is 22 7918. It is identical to the standard 37 0395 rotary table with the exception that it does not include the hold-down clamp.
The tables are all in superb condition.

Leitz Retroreflector Right-Angle Prism
$750.00This is a rare item. It is a Leitz right-angle prism for use with autocollimators and alignment telescopes. It consists of a beam-splitter mounted on a cast pillar. The beam-splitter is arranged so the incident beam strikes the prism interface and is deflected downwards where a retro-reflector is cemented. The upper surface of the prism (opposite the retro-reflector) is open. Presumably this device aids in making a reference plane above the prism parallel with the base of the prism mount while still being able to check orthogonality with a vertical reference plane..
I was unable to find out any specifications on the item, but Leitz metrology equipment is rated with the very best. The instrument is in excellent condition, but does not include a cabinet (there is a protective paper sleeve for the prism, however).

Ealing Triangular Bench Vertical Slide (25mm
$90.00This unit is an Ealing Vertical Slide Unit, one of the modular components of their triangular optical bench series. The catalog number is 22-4089. It includes a built-in pillar with a graduated Z-axis height range of 25mm, adjustable via a knob-driven leadscrew. The vertical slide may be attached directly to the various triangular bench carriers, or a transverse slide can be interposed for combining transverse and vertical motions on a single carrier.
The pillar is bored to accept post of 13.7mm diameter, with an eccentric bore opposite the thumb screw so smaller diameter posts (down to 10mm) may be securely clamped accurately. Maximum height of the pillar is 90mm.
The vertical slides are in excellent condition. Most are gray color, although we occasionally see the later black ones.

Newport Interferometry Holography System

We could not find any literature on the system in any of the catalogs, but all of the components are Newport, and it appears to have been marketed as a composite module. The baseplate is 32 inches wide, 8 inches deep, and 1 inch thick. It is supplied with three 5-inch riser posts for securing to an optical table. On the left end of the apparatus ( assuming that the scale faces forward) there is a beam-directing mirror. The laser may be introduced into the system either from component level (8.125 inches) or from an aperture beneath the baseplate depending on the orientation of the mirror.The next component in the system is a variable beam-splitter that appears to have a motorized drive. There is a small phono plug connector in the housing that we think hold the motor. No cable for the motor was supplied. On each of the exit ports for the variable beam-splitter are shutters with cables extending through apertures in the base.
There are several other components in the system, including some special corner reflectors in the adjustable beam-length portion of the system. The corner reflector position is graduated in cm from 0 to 65 (the path is folded, so the graduations are only 5mm apart). There appears to be some sort of photocell just forward of the P-beam beam-splitter.
We did not get any of the drive electronics for the shutters, the motor for the variable beamsplitter, or the readout for the sensor. Nor is a laser included with the system.
All of the components appear to be in perfect condition and the system is exceptionally clean. Along with this system we also received two very large coated mirrors each held by a pair of vibration damped Newport posts. One of the mirrors is 7.5 x 10 inches, the other mirror is 14 x 18 inches. They are listed separately.

Spectr-Physics Spatial Filter Adapter 332
$140.00This is a Spectra Physics Spatial Filter mounting system, Type 332. This elaborate device is intended for use with the various Spectra Physics collimation objectives in helical focus mounts, such as the type 331 or 336. The spatial filter system consists of three assemblies, the main one of which is the mounting. In the front of the mounting (in the aperture recessed into the thread for the objective mount) is a thread to accept precision pinholes (sold separately) and on the opposite side, after removing the centering collar, another thread is accessed into which various objectives may be installed. The objective is the fixed component in the system. The laser is centered to the objective by releasing the first knurled collar. There is approximately plus or minus 2mm of travel. Motion is restricted to an XY pattern by the slotted intermediate spacer (see second photo). Once the laser is centered, the adapter is locked. The knurled ring adjacent to the locking ring acts as a very fine focus for the pinhole which is in turn centered via the two fine motion screws on the side of the housing….
These spatial filter systems are in very good condition, and functionally perfect. There are some scuff marks in the finish, but for the most part they are minor. To have a functional system you will need to install an objective and a pinhole (listed separately).
