Nikon Measuring Stage with Rotary Table, 1 x 1

Description

This Nikon measuring stage includes a clamping base that allows precise alignment of the X and Y axes. We are not sure what instrument it fits, but it was probably intended for use with their line of measuring microscopes or with some of the smaller profile projectors.

The stage has a range of motion of 1 by 1 inch with micrometer actuators. Spindles may be read directly to 0.0005 inches and to 0.0001 inches via verniers. The stage includes a graduated theta plate with two T-slots. The stage rotary motion is graduated in degrees and can be read to 2 minutes of arc via a vernier. There is a clamp for stage rotation.

Overall height of the stage is approximately 3 inches from the mounting plate reference surface. The mounting plate surface is better than 5 inches square. Overall diameter of the stage is approximately 7 inches. There is a clear bore of slightly less than 3 inches. The stage is missing the glass insert, which would have been 105mm in diameter. The stage weighs 13.75 pounds and is of massive construction.

All motions work very smoothly. The stage is in very fine condition. There is a bit of rust residue in the bottom plate but the ball-bearing ways are in perfect shape. Overall cosmetic condition is very fine.
