Gaertner Spatial Filter Assembly for Holography

Description

This spatial filter is one of the several components that comprised the MOD II Gaertner ‘Improved Holographic System’. It consists of a housing which holds an interchangeable 10x microscope objective, and an interchangeable pinhole diaphragm. The microscope objective is held in place by a threaded collar. The position of the collar is adjustable along the optic axis by a large knurled screw in the pin-hole side of the housing. The pinhole is held in place magnetically, and may be centered to the optic axis using a pair of knurled centering screws. The housing also has a position for a special shutter release cable, but this is not included. The shutter release cable had a small shutter blade attached to the plunger that acted as the shutter.

The housing includes a 13mm diameter rod, 100mm long. Diameter of the pinhole is not specified on the pinhole carrier, but the normally supplied diameter was approximately 25 microns.

The filter is in excellent condition, and all included parts function properly. The objective is in perfect optical condition.
