The eyepiece is in excellent cosmetic condition and near-flawless optical condition.

This ocular is a higher magnification option to the 10x version usually supplied with the American Optical Greenough series of stereo microscopes.
They are not suitable for the later series of Stereo-Star and Cycloptic instruments because the intermediate image plane would be in the wrong position.
