10,000 ohm NBS type 4-terminal Resistance

Description

This is an NBS-type four terminal 10,000 ohm resistance standard. It is marked with both the Rubicon and the Honeywell brand names. The resistor was included in a box of standards that came out of the Leeds & Northrup calibration laboratory.

We were unable to determine any information regarding specifications for this standard resistor, however there was some information on the attached labels.

Calibration label marked ‘Limited Calib’, 9.99993 Kohm, ‘caled to 20 ppm only’. A Dymo tape label marked ‘REF STND’. A second Dymo tape label with value 9.999985 (Kohm). Serial number 103103.

The resistor was measured with a Fluke 8060 meter just to confirm that it was close to the nominal stated value, and that it had not been damaged. The standard is oil-immersed and has a rubber adhesive patch placed over the thermometer access port to stem leakage during transport..
